Hear it from the parents

Development, not just winning. In their own words, here is what parents and players say about training and playing at Gorilla.

★★★★★
Our family very reluctantly decided to check out travel ball for our son entering his 9U season. At the start of the tryout Head Coach Dolenga spoke about his goal for Gorilla to be the best developmental program in the area, and about how all of his players will always be a part of the Gorilla “family.” We decided to accept the roster invitation and our experience has been awesome! Our 9 year old can’t get enough and wants to be at the facility every single day. He was always a decent contact hitter but in such a short time his swing speed, exit velo and launch angle have improved so much he’s hitting bombs like he was never able to before. Our 7 year old saw his older brother’s enjoyment and excitement and started with his own Gorilla classes and lessons and LOVES Coach Joey. The improvement Gorilla has fostered in both our sons’ baseball skills is beyond my expectations, but I’m more excited to see how much their self-confidence has grown along with their ability.

I can’t say enough positive things about the Gorilla Baseball program. My son is playing for the travel team for a second year and has had a great experience. The program truly has an emphasis on development not just winning. They have a top notch facility with a Hittrax and now implemented the Pelotero system that analyzes all parts of a player’s mechanics. We have seen our son improve a great deal both in hitting and pitching. The coaches are supportive and also push the players to be the best they can be. Jason absolutely wants each player to improve and eventually make their high school team. All of the coaches have extensive experience and most play or have played collegiate baseball.

If you’re looking for a baseball program to take your child to the next level this is the place. I’ve attended, and work with, many other programs across Illinois. Gorilla baseball hands down is one of the few programs in the area that can teach your child the correct way to play the game. Their pro inspired infield training is top notch and it won’t take you long to notice big changes in your kids gameplay.

Coach Dolenga and his team have a great operation that is perfect if you are looking for ways for your child to improve on the baseball field. Our son participated in indoor hitting leagues, individual sessions, camps and played on a Gorilla team. The improvement he showed in two years is remarkable. The Gorilla team emphasizes the right things, working hard to improve and doing it the right way.

Our experience with Gorilla has been outstanding! Coaches do a great job recognizing the unique strengths and talents of each player and use that understanding to help every athlete grow. As a result, players not only improve their skills, they also build a genuine love for the game.

Brought my 2 boys in for a hitting lesson and worked with Jason. Great facility, amazing instruction, and loved that Jason went beyond baseball skills and talked to my boys about how to carry themselves in a respectful and professional way on the field and off. My boys loved seeing immediate results with hittrax technology. They talked about their exit velo and how much fun they had hours after the lesson.

I recently took my 11 year old son Tommy there for a hitting lesson with Coach Jason and it was tremendous. Jason’s instruction and approach to hitting drastically improved my son’s swing path and exit velocity. Jason keeps track of Tommy’s development and improvement from each lesson and we keep breaking records.

Our son was injured early on in the season, but throughout the entire season he has still been seen as a member of the team, encouraged to participate when he can and really nurtured as an injured athlete. The coaches focus on all aspects of baseball and improving their on field performance, but where they go above and beyond is teaching young athletes how to be better teammates, have the proper mindset, and teaching life lessons along the way.

Our son has been on the 9U fall ball team and we have really appreciated their approach to coaching and teaching. They focus on foundational skills for baseball but at the same time work on skills for being good athletes, and good teammates. We also like that they encourage the kids to not be only one sport kids like other programs do. That helps ensure the joy of the game is there.

My child played for the 9U Fall Ball Gorilla team and really had a great experience. Throughout the season, he has been improving his swing and has hit the ball harder and farther than he ever has in the past. The coaches are motivating and really encourage them to swing in the batter’s box rather than take a walk. He has gained more confidence at the plate.

It’s only been 3 sessions, but the ball is flying off his bat like never before. He has increased his exit velocity by 15mph since lesson 1. More importantly, his timing has improved greatly as well as his confidence.

This man Jason will make you better! He has made me stronger than ever with some lifting advice, and in just over a year with this facility, my exit velo has jumped from 80 to a recent pr of 94. Awesome facility, awesome energy, come here to get better and have fun.

The coaches focus on the fundamentals and teaching it right from the start. They teach how to carry yourself, how to be a good teammate and respect for the game. My son had improved in the six weeks of Fall Ball. I was truly impressed with the program and facility.

Jason took the time to connect with my son and is now considered not only his trainer, but a mentor that he trusts. The facility is top-notch with many resources and classes which is a nice value add as well. Jason cares about the overall development of the individual and keeps it simple.
